Who Are We....

AATA Rescue is comprised of 5 partners and several volunteers.

Barbara Hanson
Founder/President

Barbara has had animals her whole life and grew up on a small farm of sorts in northern NH. From there she moved with her parents to LI NY, where she spent her teen years and some of her adult years; she's still a NY'er at heart. After hurricane Sandy she volunteered in NYC and learned of the horrors at NYCACC and knew she had to do something to help. She ended up volunteering with one of the largest rescues in NYC and quickly found out how rewarding, stressful and drama filled rescue can be. Not being one who likes drama, after a couple of years she decided to leave the big rescue and venture out on her own. Within a few months AATA (All About The Animals) Rescue took form and many of her dreams started to become reality. Barbara now lives in central NH with her husband and their 3 dogs, 2 of which are rescues. The number of fosters varies from time to time, but there is usually a 4 legged guest in their home waiting for their furever home.

Amy Harrison
Co-Founder/Vice-President

Amy has been bringing animals home since a small child! She has rescued and placed many cats over the years and has also done some wildlife rescue. After an orange cat named "Little Boy"..(who was the love of her life) passed away, she started working online with rescues and especially with the NYC death row dogs. That is where she found the new love of her life, XO. XO was a dog on death row at NYC ACC. Amy shared so many pics and posts about him, people said he should have his own page.... so now he does: XO'S PAGE. Be sure to visit his page! you will love him too! Amy and Barbara also started an animal transport group called: ALL ABOUT THE ANIMALS RESCUE TRANSPORT. Amy has been an animal lover her whole life! "I've had many friends tell me that if they were to hit the lottery, they would buy me a shelter!" "unfortunately that hasn't happened yet!" Amy says that it is difficult to not be able to save them all, but that should not mean be apathetic....we can still make a difference!....we can still save lives!

AATA Rescue Mission Statement

All About The Animals Rescue (AATA) is a not for profit (pending 501c3) animal rescue founded in 2014. We exist solely on donations and rely primarily on fundraising to help animals in need.

Our mission is to raise awareness of the ever growing plight of homeless animals in this country, both in shelters and those dumped on our streets. Way too many amazing animals are euthanized every single day simply because they are homeless. We try to focus on owner surrenders, before they end up in shelters, so that space can be used for another dog off the streets.

We plan to introduce and promote these animals to the public and educate people that unwanted companion animals are not damaged goods or unworthy, but really can be great family pets.

We will not discriminate against any breed, they are all worthy of love. We will work in conjunction with other rescues and individuals to assist them with care, promotion or placement of animals in need.

It is our belief that no injured or abused animal should lose its life simply due to lack of funds. We do not have our own shelter, and we will rely on volunteers, fosters and adopters to take the animals into their homes and provide them with proper care and nurturing.

All of our animals will be vaccinated, heartworm tested, micro-chipped and altered. All of our potential foster or adopter homes will be fully screened, including references and vet check, an interview with the applicant and a home visit to ensure the home is the right fit for the animal.

Our outreach and education efforts will take place online via Facebook, web site and other social media as well as in person in the community via community events and any place people may lawfully gather to exchange information and learn. Our message is on teaching general animal care and welfare, population control through spay and neuter and disease control in the animal population via proper vaccinations and quarantine of animals with unknown health and vaccine history.
